Another great weekend of Basketball saw our boys teams U14s, U16s and U18s in action both on the road and home at Bedford Academy.

We started with a journey to Essex and early tip for our U14s against Braintree Blue Devils.
The boys played really well considering they were up convincingly from the start of the game. They kept the intensity up and overall was a well rounded and balanced game. Well Done Guys!

Next up The Cambridge Cats 1st’s entertained our Thunder U16s in Cambridge.
The boys played really well against a strong Cambridge Cats team. We started off slow and then started to pick it up as the game went on. Excellent blocks, rebounds and put-backs by our 6’6 forward Max.

Sunday we were treated to another ‘Double Header’ with our U16s and U18s entertaining Cambridge Cats 2nds and Essex Rebels respectively.
At an unusually cold Bedford Academy our boys kept the temperature rising with the usual 3’s, dunks and close out play.

Our U16s determined to get get back to winning ways comfortably controlled their game against the Cats, running out to a 53 point lead at the Buzzer…..winning the game 84 – 31. Notable contributions from our players E.Janahi (21 pts) and M.Wallace (14 pts).

Always ready to rock the house, our U18s entertained the Essex Rebels with an action packed game. The guys controlled the play and set off their intentions with an opening scoring Dunk by our No 3 forward K. Augustine. The Thunder suffered a scare in the 1st quarter with our guard No 8 L.Alonso coming down hard on his ankle after a rebound, an injury that will see him side-lined for the coming weeks. Fingers crossed its not as bad as it looked and we hope for a speedy recovery.

After being up in every quarter apart from a fightback 4th from the rebels the Thunder ran out winners leading by 22 at the buzzer. Winning 92 – 70. Notable contributions again from our Guard No 10 D.Aldred with 16 points and our forward No 37 D.Lambert with 16 also. Great Win guys!
