apprenticeship PROGRAM
The program is aimed at youth players who wish to gain coaching experience
alongside their usual player training. The objective is to place candidates in a safe
and engaging environment where they will use the sport they love to gain skills
that will carry over into their adult lives. The program runs for 12 months and there
are assessments and materials to complete throughout.
Coaching Apprenticeship Process
Enrolment Phase
Candidates will be required to complete sign up form to show their interest in enrolling in the coaching apprenticeship program.
Assessment Phase
A meeting with Coach, Player, and Parent will be arranged to discuss the preferred session and course objectives.
Inclusion Phase
Candidates will be added to the Teamsnap coaching group and have access to the 'coaches corner' on the website.
Program Phase
A number of assessments and course materials will be completed. As confidence is gained, candidates will be able to take small groups of players to deliver skill-specific workouts.
Qualification Phase
Candidates will gain their Level 1 Qualification in Sports
Leadership (SL1) award and be encouraged to continue developing their coaching skills.
